Holistic management task

The world of work is at a turning point: artificial intelligence (AI) is developing at a rapid pace and transforming not only processes but also entire organizational structures. Companies, public administration and institutions are currently experiencing a fundamental change that is no longer just about digitalization - it is about the productive interaction between man and machine, experience and algorithms, intuition and data intelligence. The key driver of this transformation is the increasing use of AI systems, which are effective to varying degrees depending on the complexity of the task and existing experience in the company. In areas with a high degree of standardization, AI agents are already performing repetitive tasks completely autonomously. In more complex, knowledge-intensive fields, however, hybrid working models are emerging: Humans work hand in hand with so-called "AI twins" - digital twins that mimic human behavior, provide suggestions, prepare decisions and ultimately relieve the workload or improve content and operations. Skills shortage as a catalyst The shortage of skilled workers is acting as a catalyst: companies are being forced to redistribute tasks and rethink skills with the help of technology. The "digital workforce" is growing - not through new hires, but through the targeted use of intelligent agents and helpers. The question is therefore no longer whether AI will be integrated into work, but how collaboration between human employees and digital actors can be organized efficiently and ethically. This also gives rise to a new understanding of operational management. The traditional manager as a decision-maker and supervisory authority is being supplemented by new roles - such as the "AI orchestrator". This role operates at the interface between technology, organization and people. These AI orchestrators need to understand which AI systems can be used for what, how human and machine skills complement each other and how new processes can be established. They not only manage teams, but also digital systems - and ensure transparent, trusting collaboration between humans and machines. Enormous potential This makes operational management more complex, but also more strategic. It must understand technological progress, accompany cultural change and create learning spaces. It needs a clear vision and new management principles that promote self-organization, responsibility and continuous development. At the same time, the organization must be prepared to question hierarchies, break down silos and promote interdisciplinary collaboration. It has been proven that companies that are among the digital champions have significantly stronger sales growth than those companies that have focused less on digitalization. The age of AI requires not only technological innovation, but above all organizational intelligence and courageous and transparent leadership. Companies that manage to actively shape this change can unleash enormous potential: for efficiency, for innovative strength and new operational value creation - and for a new quality of work. More efficiency and customer satisfaction through assistance solutions

Artificial intelligence has long since made the transition from research to everyday life. It can already be found in a wide range of value-added areas, especially in business applications - across all industries. AI-supported assistants, also known colloquially as bots, have become particularly well established. Whether for researching internal company knowledge or highly specialized in an area of activity such as customer service. These digital helpers "understand" natural language, answer more complex questions and suggest solutions - all in a matter of seconds. AI-supported chatbot for recurring routine enquiries "Many companies are currently focusing on making processes more efficient and reducing the workload of employees in the long term - whether by automating simple routines or by providing assistance with complex decisions," explains Manuel Moser, Director Digital Innovations & AI at CANCOM Austria. The spectrum of applications now ranges from simple knowledge bots to assistants that independently use company applications via so-called tools. Together with CANCOM, a large educational institution has added a digital colleague to its support center: an AI-supported chatbot that automates recurring inquiries about the educational offer and answers them around the clock. A previously high number of support requests on often the same topics, which were requested via several communication channels, could thus be resolved. These recurring routine inquiries put a strain on the support team, particularly at busy times. Protection mechanisms against misuse of the bot The first step was to implement the intelligent chatbot in the university's internal Study Support Center, which was then extended to the public website. Using a specially developed service, students and interested parties can submit their inquiries around the clock via self-service. Deep integration into the organization ensures that the data is up to date. The bot accesses heterogeneous knowledge about the range of courses on offer and thus provides targeted answers to enquiries. Inquiries outside the defined area are not answered. Protection mechanisms against misuse of the bot are also included. Significant reduction in the volume of inquiries in the support center "Our CANCOM Assistant has significantly reduced the volume of inquiries in the support center - with corresponding relief for employees at peak times. In addition, improved availability is ensured, as the information can be accessed around the clock," explains Manuel Moser from CANCOM Austria. The basis for the AI solution of the university educational institution is the CANCOM Assistant Suite, which supports companies across all industries in the use of state-of-the-art LLM (Large Language Models) technology. The suite ranges from low-threshold access to knowledge to autonomous AI agents that take on entire tasks independently. Easily configurable AI agents for different business areas and processes "The CANCOM Assistant Suite integrates seamlessly into the company's existing systems and enables the use of AI in different business areas and processes through easily configurable agents," explains Manuel Moser, Director Digital Innovations & AI, CANCOM Austria. CANCOM Austria has also created benefits through AI for a large service company: This is faced with the challenge of answering a high number of email inquiries correctly in terms of content and also legally, without having to spend too much time researching internal systems. Tailor-made integration into existing work processes The AI-based CANCOM Assistant was perfectly integrated into the existing work processes - with links to internal documents, databases and other data sources. The "human in the loop" is important here: even if the AI provides suggestions, the human is still in the driver's seat and validates the answer before it is sent to the customer. "The significant reduction in research effort and the much faster response to recurring inquiries gives customer service staff the opportunity to focus on complex and sensitive cases," explains Manuel Moser, Director Digital Innovations & AI at CANCOM Austria.

CANCOM Cyber Security Report 2025: Digital resilience as the key to future security

With the publication of the Cyber Security Report 2025, CANCOM once again presents a comprehensive analysis of the current threat situation and security strategies in the digital space. The annual report highlights the most important developments in the field of cyber security and shows how companies can strengthen their digital resilience - a topic that is becoming increasingly important in the face of growing threats from ransomware, social engineering and attacks on supply chains. Almost all aspects of our economic, social, political and private lives are related to cyber security in some way. According to the Allianz Global Risk Barometer, cyber incidents are among the biggest business risks worldwide at 36 percent - at the same time, according to a Munich Re study not sufficiently protected. "Cybersecurity is one of the most important key factors for strong business performance and future security," emphasizes Jochen Borenich, CEO of CANCOM Austria, in the foreword to the report. Top topics in 2025: Adversary evolution, Big 4 and zero days The report identifies several key threat areas: the increasing professionalization of attackers, the so-called "adversary evolution", the vulnerability of global supply chains and the growing sophistication of social manipulation techniques. In addition to these threats, the report also analyzes the activities of the so-called Big 4 - China, Russia, Iran and North Korea - as well as the increasing danger of zero-day attacks, which often go undetected and are used specifically by state actors. A key conclusion of the report: ransomware is and remains the number one threat. The attacks are not only becoming more frequent, but also more complex - with attempts at extortion that operate on several levels simultaneously: from data encryption and data theft to DDoS attacks and targeted contact with third parties. Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly acting as an accelerator of these developments: AI-based technologies enable automated attack patterns, deceptively real deepfakes and highly personalized phishing campaigns. The report also focuses on the use of AI and LLMs in cybersecurity. It shows which LLM models attackers use and how companies can minimize risks through data validation and targeted segmentation. AI both an opportunity and a risk for cybersecurity However, AI also opens up new opportunities for defense - for example through anomaly detection, threat intelligence and automated responses. The question is no longer whether AI plays a role in cyber security - but how it is used responsibly, efficiently and strategically. Another key topic of the report is therefore the use of AI and machine learning (ML) in cyber security. While attackers are increasingly relying on generative AI, CANCOM uses ML-based technologies to detect and defend against threats at an early stage. "Data quality, validation and transparency are crucial to using AI safely and effectively," explains Erwin Friedl, Principal Cyber Security Analyst at CANCOM. Holistic security strategies against current threat scenarios In addition to analyzing the current threat situation, the report also shows specific practical strategies on how companies can counter current and future risks: For example, how companies can secure their IT and OT infrastructures holistically with the so-called 4+1 strategy (Prevent, Protect, Detect, Respond + Recover). But also how the Security Operations Center and the interaction between Red and Blue Teams - the so-called PURPLE Team - contribute to this. Quantum cryptography and NIS2: a look into the future CANCOM is also contributing its network and security expertise to research into quantum cryptography and is working on the encryption of data transfers as part of the EU QCI-CAT project. At the same time, the company supports its customers in implementing regulatory requirements such as the NIS2 directive. Interested parties can also find valuable assistance on this in the Cyber Security Report. Practical examples and voices from the business world The report contains numerous best practices and interviews - including with ORF, ZARGES and SPAR ICS - which show how companies are working with CANCOM to strengthen their security architecture. The key finding: the more sophisticated the attacks, the more intelligent and forward-looking the defense strategies need to be. The CANCOM Cyber Security Report 2025 is aimed at companies throughout the DACH region and takes into account both national and European developments - from regulatory requirements such as NIS2 and DORA to industry-specific challenges in industry, healthcare and the public sector. The complete CANCOM Cyber Security Report 2025 is now available for download at IT Security

Breakthrough for data rooms: CANCOM and HPE lower barriers to entry for sovereign shared data value creation

Vienna, April 30, 2025 - For years, data rooms have been considered key to the growth of a sovereign European data economy - but their full potential often remains untapped because they present companies and public authorities with technological and operational challenges. CANCOM Austria now offers a solution that removes these hurdles. Without high integration costs or complex in-house developments, it enables secure and efficient collaboration across company and industry boundaries. The open architecture also enables the integration of data spaces based on other standards, such as Gaia-X or the International Data Spaces Association. The new solution was developed by CANCOM Austria in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). It makes the provision of data spaces as easy as using a modern cloud platform. CANCOM Austria provides an integrated open source technology stack as a managed service that includes all the functions a company or public authority needs to participate in data rooms. The stack is operated in the data centers of the respective data room participants, as private instances in one of the CANCOM data centers or in the cloud. Another advantage: unlike many previous approaches, the solution does not require any data transfer between the participants. Thanks to the underlying service mesh architecture, communication takes place directly between the systems involved - secured by zero-trust procedures for mutual authentication and continuous attestation of identities. Alternatively, controlled data transfer is also possible, with data usage being automatically monitored and logged across the entire data room. "Data rooms can become the pillar for the European data economy and digital sovereignty - but until now the barriers to entry have been very high," explains Dietmar Wiesinger, CSO of CANCOM Austria. "We are working with HPE to lower these barriers and enable trustworthy and secure cross-company digital collaboration in shared data spaces - with full control over their own data. In this way, we help companies to strategically exploit this advantage and increase their competitiveness in the long term." The technology stack is provided fully pre-integrated by CANCOM Austria. The technology stack is based on an HPE reference architecture for federated ecosystems and uses only cloud-native open source technologies and open standards - all with a "Graduated" maturity level from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). The setup, maintenance and expansion of data room functions is therefore highly standardized and automated. For example, only a few simple steps are required to connect new data room participants or create data usage rules. "In contrast to other data room approaches, we only use open source frameworks from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation for this solution," says Florian Bühr, Solution Architect, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. "We have linked these frameworks in such a way that developers have all the necessary functions for data federation and security ready to use - so they can concentrate on the specialist applications and value creation." The new solution is available immediately from CANCOM Austria. It opens up numerous application possibilities, including Secure access to multi-domain data for the training of AI agents Transparency and traceability in supply chains for regulatory compliance Monetization of data through standardized and controlled access mechanisms The configuration, monitoring and control of the data rooms is completely decentralized and under the sole control of the respective participants. Companies can define individual data usage guidelines and adapt these flexibly to their business requirements. To make the most of the potential of modern data ecosystems and to share data with partners in a secure, controlled and self-determined manner, CANCOM Austria offers solutions that redesign collaboration in companies, optimize processes and implement innovative use cases. The experts at CANCOM Austria support their customers from the initial idea through to operational implementation. CANCOM services include, for example, discovery workshops, onboarding, connection of data sources to the data room and finally the operation of the technology stack as a managed service. Austria's first 5G clinics are located in Burgenland

Gesundheit Burgenland is also making history in the mobile communications sector: Austria's first 5G hospital went into operation in May 2024 with the new Oberwart clinic. The clinics in Kittsee, Güssing, Oberpullendorf and the headquarters in Eisenstadt followed in the months that followed. Gesundheit Burgenland is thus taking on a pioneering role in Austria and is also setting the pace internationally - there are currently only a few clinics in Europe with their own 5G campus network. Fast help thanks to digital networking Pagers and DECT telephony are now obsolete. All voice communication and alarms in the Burgenland clinics run exclusively via the independent 5G network. Healthcare staff are equipped with professional, handy devices that resemble a smartphone. "With this solution, we are also ideally positioned for future requirements and technological challenges - both in terms of internal communication and for new digital procedures, processes and apps that can be used in hospital operations in the future," says Harald Binder, IT Director at Gesundheit Burgenland. "It is conceivable that the entire logistics - from patient transport to medication delivery - as well as simplifications and improvements in patient care and safety will be managed via the new system in the future." Franz Öller, MBA, MPH, Commercial Director of Gesundheit Burgenland: "The hospital of the future will be based on an independent 5G campus network that offers maximum data security on the one hand and enables innovative healthcare on the other, for example through AI-supported diagnoses that require huge amounts of data to be processed in the shortest possible time. Gesundheit Burgenland is leading its clinics into the future with the help of these modern, telecommunication solutions with the aim of making medicine faster, safer and more efficient for everyone." Magenta and CANCOM built an independent 5G campus network In order to enable fail-safe operation, it was necessary to set up a completely independent 5G network. Martin Ellesch, Senior VP Managed Services at CANCOM: "Together with Magenta, we have implemented a private mobile network that operates completely independently of the public mobile network. The 5G platform used delivers highly available voice and data services in the hospital environment and is also an important catalyst for further digitalization in the healthcare sector." "This project is a real game changer for the healthcare sector. Instead of the DECT technology that has been tried and tested for decades, we are relying on a forward-looking solution in which all users such as doctors, nursing staff and technicians only need a single end device with the applications required for hospital operations. This makes work much more mobile and flexible for users," explains Thomas Brezina, Director Healthcare at CANCOM Austria. Werner Kraus, Managing Director for the business customer segment at Magenta, adds: "This is a tailor-made solution for Gesundheit Burgenland. The hospital network has dual redundancy and continues to run even in the event of a power or technical failure. Gesundheit Burgenland manages the 5G network itself in an "on premise" solution via the in-house IT department, also for data protection reasons." In international cutting-edge medicine, 5G hospitals are still the exception. There are European examples in Oulu in Finland and in the German city of Leipzig. Gesundheit Burgenland thus joins the still very short list of digital pioneers in Europe. Gesundheit Burgenland - Burgenländische Krankenanstalten-Gesellschaft m.b.H. was founded in 1992 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the province and has been operational since January 1993. Since 2019, it has been owned by Landesholding Burgenland GmbH (90 percent of the shares) and the province of Burgenland (ten percent). The head office of Gesundheit Burgenland is located in Eisenstadt. The Gesundheit Burgenland Group has around 2,500 employees, making it the largest employer in the province. The company generates around 22 percent of the revenue of the Landesholding Group and is the second-largest company in the Group according to this criterion (after Burgenland Energie AG). A new clinic was built in Oberwart between 2020 and 2024 and has been in operation since the beginning of May 2024. Gesundheit Burgenland is also planning to build a clinic in Gols in the district of Neusiedl am See. CANCOM Austria (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom). As a leading digital business provider, we accompany companies, organizations and the public sector into the digital future. The range of services and solutions includes classic system house IT solutions as well as data-based digital solutions, managed services and cloud services. With passion and technology, we accompany the digital evolution of our customers and support them in reducing the complexity of their IT and developing new business models. We offer a holistic portfolio for all IT and business requirements. Magenta Telekom (T-Mobile Austria GmbH) is a leading provider of Internet, mobile communications, entertainment and business solutions in Austria. CANCOM presents next-generation AI and digitalization solutions for the healthcare sector at DMEA 2025

Munich, 12. February 2025 - CANCOM will once again be represented at DMEA, Europe's leading event for digital health, in 2025, and will be presenting itself with its own booth (hall 2.2, booth E-106) from April 8 to 10, 2025. CANCOM healthcare experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be demonstrating integrated AI and digitization solutions and inviting trade visitors to find out more about innovative technologies and services that are specifically tailored to the needs and regulations of healthcare facilities. In addition, interested parties will receive personal advice at the booth. The healthcare industry faces a number of challenges in the digital transformation, including data protection and security, interoperability, user adoption, and regulatory requirements. At booth E-106 in Hall 2.2, CANCOM will be presenting approaches to meeting these requirements and making processes in healthcare facilities more efficient and secure through digital transformation and the use of AI. Numerous use cases will be presented. Key topics: digital transformation for greater efficiency and security One focus is on specific applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. CANCOM demonstrates how AI technologies can intelligently support therapy processes, surgical planning, care measures and administrative activities in order to save valuable time and resources. A prime example of this is the SiMed research project, which is unique in the DACH market and enables the safe dispensing of solid medications. Using an extensive database of medication, the AI recognizes whether the medication contained in the dispenser matches the doctor's prescription. Austria is a pioneer in quantum cryptography for the protection of critical infrastructure data

Austria has taken a significant step in the research and application of quantum technology as an encryption technology for critical infrastructures. The use case tested by CANCOM Austria in January 2024 has shown that cryptographic data keys based on quantum entanglement can be successfully exchanged between two data centers. This technology offers a high level of security against conventional cyber attacks as well as attacks using quantum computers. The project, which is scheduled to run for 18 months and is led by the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and involves besides CANCOM Austria, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMLV), is particularly important for securing data traffic in critical infrastructures. Quantum technologies make everyday life safer and protect against future security threats Quantum technologies are revolutionizing communication by using new, secure encryption options that make messages almost completely tap-proof. This is because there is a risk that (quantum) computers could be used to crack data encryption in the future, for example in financial transactions. This is where quantum cryptography in the form of QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) comes into play again. QKD is a method for the secure transmission of encryption keys that is based on the laws of quantum physics. By using individual particles of light (photons), any unauthorized eavesdropping is automatically detected and the key is rendered unusable, enabling absolutely secure communication. Network and security expertise from CANCOM Austria In the CANCOM Austria research laboratory, the experts worked intensively with their partners on the development of the new technology and, with the developed source code "Arnika" as an open source extension of WireGuard* VPN, enabled quantum-resistant VPN connections that offer new possibilities for tap-proof transmission of data, especially for critical infrastructure and security-relevant sectors such as public administration, military facilities and the financial and energy sectors. "Arnika" uses cryptographic keys generated by a quantum key distribution (QKD) system based on quantum mechanical principles. These keys are used in a VPN connection with WireGuard* and are used for symmetric encryption of various applications. In addition, hybrid encryption can be created with a combination of QKD and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) systems, which ensures reliability in the event of attacks on one of the systems. "As a driver of innovation, we are taking on a clear pioneering role in this project together with our partners and are thus also making an important contribution to data security and data sovereignty in Austria and Europe. We are currently planning further proofs of concept with our customers from the critical infrastructure sector," says Andreas Neuhold, Senior Manager Security at CANCOM Austria.   *WireGuard and the WireGuard logo are registered trademarks of Jason A. CANCOM Cloud Marketplace goes Austria

Austrian customers can now access the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace leading solutions and services. They benefit from fast, uncomplicated and scalable access to a wide range of multi-cloud solutions - with monthly billing for all services purchased. A growing number of companies are opting for "Software as a Service" (Saas). Obtaining software directly from the cloud is flexible and quickly scalable. Nevertheless, there are challenges, for example due to the rapidly growing, barely manageable range of solutions or the risk of "shadow IT". A cloud marketplace helps companies to maintain an overview, simplifies the central provision of software for employees and enables the seamless use of solutions from different providers. Companies need to be and remain flexible. As the company grows or circumstances change, resources can be adapted by adding users or functions. SaaS solutions can be implemented without investment and infrastructure requirements. Companies also benefit from cost efficiency: the reduced IT complexity leads to significantly lower maintenance and servicing costs. Automatic functional enhancements also enable continuous innovation potential. In addition, SaaS-based provisioning models impress with their simplicity and convenience. With the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace, companies can use SaaS while ensuring a high level of security and integrity, manage the purchase and procurement of hundreds of SaaS applications, and ensure consistent service and support for end users. "The expansion of our Cloud Marketplace to Austria is a major milestone in CANCOM's digitization agenda for our customers, because the procurement of modern cloud services via digital self-service processes is a key success factor in the IT strategy of every company," says Peter Weisbach, Senior Vice President Unified Commerce at CANCOM. More than 120 business and 12,000 infrastructure solutions from leading manufacturers from a single source German and Austrian customers can currently purchase more than 120 business and 12,000 infrastructure solutions from leading manufacturers digitally via the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace. These include offerings from the areas of Cloud Infrastructure & Datacenter, Backup & Migration, Communication & Collaboration, Workplace, Creativity and Security. The number of directly integrated providers and their solutions is unique. The platform also gives you direct access to the partner marketplaces of AWS and Microsoft, allowing you to book and manage all your cloud services and applications centrally. In addition, Austrian customers will soon also have access to CANCOM's own services such as Backup as a Service and Secure Offsite Backup as a Service. "The digital transformation of our customers is not only driving our own portfolio: the solutions of our trusted partners are also developing rapidly. With the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace in Austria, we offer our customers integrated infrastructure and business solutions at the touch of a button in a matter of seconds, thus significantly increasing the pace of innovation," says Dietmar Wiesinger, Member of the Executive Board CANCOM Austria AG. About the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace The CANCOM Cloud Marketplace is a digital self-service platform for the procurement and management of modern cloud platforms, cloud services and business applications. K-Businesscom becomes CANCOM Austria: Unified presence for CANCOM in the DACH region

CANCOM, a leading hybrid IT service provider, has been even more present in the DACH region as well as in Romania and the Czech Republic since the beginning of the year. Austria's leading ICT solution and service provider and digitalization partner K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) became part of the CANCOM Group in June 2023. Since the turn of the year, the company and its subsidiaries have been operating under the CANCOM brand in Austria, Romania and the Czech Republic. With the uniform brand identity, CANCOM is strengthening its own positioning and the presence of the brand with a focus on DACH customers. The CANCOM Group grew sustainably in 2023 - to more than 5,600 employees at around 80 locations in the DACH region and beyond. The acquisition of the Austrian ICT solution and service provider K-Businesscom in June 2023 - the largest takeover in the company's history to date - was a key factor in this growth. With the turn of the year, the scope and breadth of the CANCOM brand has now also been expanded, as the company is now also operating under the CANCOM brand for the first time in the Romanian and Czech markets - after Switzerland, where K-Businesscom was already renamed in October. CANCOM has been represented on the Austrian market since 1994 with CANCOM a+d IT solutions GmbH. The competencies and market access of the former K-Businesscom will strengthen and expand CANCOM's presence there. The change of name from K-Businesscom to CANCOM is the next logical step in the course of the operational merger. At the same time, the change of name underlines the joint growth in the DACH region. "The merger has brought together two companies whose values, culture and core competencies harmonize perfectly. We are a team that pulls together. Our customers receive cross-border solutions and services from a single source - and we want to make this visible both internally and externally under one brand. Our common purpose 'We transform for the better' is our guiding principle," says Rüdiger Rath, CEO of CANCOM. DACH customers benefit from the bundled product and service portfolios of both companies, but also from new synergies through complementary additions, such as in the areas of AI, digital solutions & software development. With a broad workplace solutions portfolio, CANCOM a+d IT solutions GmbH in Austria offers holistic solutions with device lifecycle management and employee choice programs for end devices from a wide range of manufacturers. The former K-Businesscom, now CANCOM Austria, brought extensive capabilities in the areas of Intelligent Networks, Data and IoT to the CANCOM Group portfolio, in addition to existing joint strengths in the business areas of Public Cloud, Managed Services and Security. CANCOM Austria's range of IT solutions is therefore very similar to CANCOM's portfolio in Germany and includes a holistic offering consisting of consulting, implementation, services and the operation of IT systems. CANCOM Austria also develops its own software solutions and platforms for innovative business models. Thanks to its Kapsch roots, CANCOM in Austria combines 130 years of innovative strength with many years of experience as a market leader for network, data center, security, collaboration and managed services. About CANCOM: As a hybrid IT service provider, CANCOM accompanies companies into the digital future. We support our customers in reducing the complexity of their IT and expanding their business success through the use of state-of-the-art technology. To meet the IT needs of companies, organizations and the public sector holistically, CANCOM offers tailor-made IT from A to Z from a single source. The CANCOM Group's range of IT solutions includes consulting, implementation, services and the operation of IT systems. Customers benefit from the extensive expertise and a holistic and innovative portfolio that covers the IT requirements necessary for a successful digital transformation of companies. Herba Chemosan - SAP - K-Businesscom

Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG, Austria's leading pharmaceutical wholesaler and logistics expert, left the US group McKesson in 2023 as part of a management buy-out. This also involved a strategic realignment with regard to IT infrastructure, applications, solutions and cybersecurity. Herba Chemosan is relying on a cloud strategy with "RISE with SAP" and K-Businesscom's expertise in the areas of networks, IT security and digitalization. RISE with SAP is a comprehensive service package that supports companies in their transformation into the digital age. Business Process Intelligence also offers a comprehensive toolbox for process analyses that can be used to better understand processes, compare them with industry standards and optimize them accordingly. "With Herba Chemosan, we were able to implement a "lighthouse project" for RISE with SAP in Austria," explains Christina Wilfinger , Managing Director of SAP Austria. "With RISE, Herba Chemosan has not only clearly opted for a future-proof cloud strategy, but can now also tailor the transformation to its individual business requirements and has access to migration tools, business process intelligence and business technology platforms on the way to becoming an intelligent company." K-Businesscom (Member of CANCOM Group) joined forces with SAP to deliver a holistic approach for a sustainably successful solution for Herba Chemosan. "We are pleased that we were able to contribute our ICT expertise in maintaining critical infrastructure, which we have already proven with numerous other customers," explains Jochen Borenich , Member of the Board CANCOM Group and Member of the Board K-Businesscom until August 2023. "The IT security services from our own Security Operation Center, the KBC Cyber Defense Center, ensure permanent security of all process data and information - not insignificant for a distributor who was responsible for the disposition and distribution of vaccines in Corona, among other things. Furthermore, the partnership with Herba Chemosan will enable us to plan and implement digitalization steps together in the future. We usually work across sectors, bring companies together and develop new use cases or business models together. The logistics sector is of course particularly exciting." Maximilian von Künsberg Sarre , CFO/COO at Herba Chemosan adds: "Having gone through a similar process with the spin-off from the Kapsch Group over the last 1.5 years, K-Businesscom understands the special requirements that we are currently facing at Herba Chemosan. This enables them to provide us with holistic advice on IT architecture, infrastructure, cloud transformation and many other topics." Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG decided to switch to RISE with SAP as a flexible cloud ERP solution. In future, processes in the supply chain are to be continuously optimized through additional services based on the data obtained. "As a result of the spin-off from the US company McKesson, we were and still are faced with the challenge of restructuring our IT architecture and services. And under relatively high time pressure. At the same time, we have the opportunity to completely redefine our digitalization strategy for the coming years. With SAP and a highly available ERP solution from the cloud and K-Businesscom as the leading local Austrian system integrator and service provider, we have found two strong partners who can support us in these steps," explains von Künsberg Sarre. Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG is the leading full-range pharmaceutical wholesaler in Austria and operates the densest distribution network for pharmaceutical products with seven logistics centers for the daily supply of 90% of Austrian pharmacies. The group of companies with around 1,000 employees includes the subsidiaries Sanova and Aewige and offers further services for the healthcare sector in the areas of nutritional supplements, medical technology and other pharmaceutical products. Herba Chemosan has 7 locations in Austria and 1 location each in Switzerland and the Czech Republic and generates a turnover of around 1.5 billion euros. Red Bull and K-Businesscom take action against cyberattacks

SOC Vienna recognizes 1.2 trillion potential threats "Cyber risks have reached a new dimension," says Jochen Borenich, CEO CANCOM SE/CSO (until August 2023 CEO at K-Businesscom). "Our Security Operation Center in Vienna alone identified and managed an incredible 1.2 trillion potential risks for our customers in 2022. We were able to successfully fend off critical attacks." Today, practically all companies, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations, are confronted with attacks from the internet. The attacks are directed against IT infrastructures, but increasingly also against production, which is often still inadequately protected. If the criminals succeed in paralyzing operations, it takes an average of 30 days before the threat is averted and production is back to normal. The downtime costs and reputational damage in such cases are enormous. IT professionals take over cyber defense In view of the potential damage and the increasingly complex threat scenarios, companies are professionalizing their cyber defence. K-Businesscom's external specialists take on the task of identifying potential risks as early as possible and averting dangers before they occur. Unlike traditional in-house IT in companies, the specialized IT professionals are able to counter the fraudsters "at eye level" - for example by using artificial intelligence. Red Bull relies on cyber defense from K-Businesscom Consumer goods group Red Bull, for example, relies on the expertise of K-Businesscom. The global market leader for energy drinks pursues a holistic security strategy and at the same time focuses on particularly vulnerable areas. The Vulnerability Management module from K-Businesscom's Cyber Defense Center provides this building block. This is a leading Security Operation Center in Europe. In the specially protected high-security environment, the experts operate a central scanning and management infrastructure: Red Bull's global network environment is automatically scanned for unknown IT assets and tested for known software IT vulnerabilities. If unknown devices are detected in the network, Red Bull is informed immediately and receives recommendations for action. The primary goal is to identify potential threats as early as possible and track them until they have been neutralized. Digital fire department ready for action at any time "Like a digital fire department, our employees are on standby around the clock, seven days a week," says Borenich. "Our job is to prevent cyberattacks and keep the damage as low as possible in an emergency." Security concept can be expanded on a modular basis If the worst comes to the worst, speed and transparency are top priorities in order to reveal the fraudsters' patterns of movement. "The continuous checks provide us with the necessary transparency and enable us to take important precautionary measures," says Jimmy Heschl, Global Head of Digital Security, Red Bull. As threat scenarios are constantly evolving, it is also important for the Group to have an adaptable and expandable security concept. This is ensured by the individual modules in the Cyber Defense Center. "KBC's services are an important building block in our security toolbox and offer us the opportunity to maintain and continuously improve our security level," says Heschl. In future, K-Businesscom will offer customers the combined expertise of two leading ICT providers in the area of cyber security. This is because K-Businesscom will become part of the CANCOM Group." K-Businesscom operates Security Operation Centers (SOC) in Vienna, Klagenfurt and St. Gallen in Switzerland. CANCOM has Security Operation Centers in Germany. Conclusion The risk of companies in Europe falling victim to cyber attacks is increasing. At the same time, the threat scenarios are becoming increasingly complex. In this situation, it is important to meet criminals "at eye level" and to professionalize cyber defence. Small and medium-sized companies as well as corporations such as Red Bull rely on the expertise of K-Businesscom. The modular components in the ICT provider's Cyber Defense Center enable an adaptable and expandable security concept to counter potential threats as far in advance as possible. K-Businesscom wins the HPE Central Europe Service Provider of the Year Award with HPE GreenLake-based Workload-as-a-Service

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) today announced the winners of the HPE Partner of the Year Awards 2023. The awards recognize HPE partners who have demonstrated commitment and success in delivering value to their customers on their digital transformation journey. This award was given to HPE partners who have achieved exceptional results in terms of financial performance, innovative solutions and meaningful business outcomes. "It is a privilege to honor the winners of the 2023 HPE Partner Awards. These partners have successfully demonstrated the ability to innovate and execute business outcomes and outstanding experiences for customers," said Gilles Thiebaut, SVP of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem and Business Development, HPE. "Our partner ecosystem continutes to be a top priority at HPE and these awards are one way we highlight some of the partners that are driving impressive results and outcomes for customers". "Workload as a Service (WaaS) enables companies to outsource their workloads to KBC, which takes care of the entire infrastructure, scaling and maintenance. This leads to a significant reduction in internal workloads and allows companies to focus on their core competencies. With WaaS, companies can scale resources quickly and on demand to cope with peak loads or implement new projects without having to invest in hardware. KBC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise are working closely together to ensure that customers in Austria benefit from this innovative solution. The combination of K-Businesscom's expertise in the field of local infrastructure and HPE's leading technologies makes it possible to offer customized solutions that meet the specific requirements of customers. HPE GreenLake provides customers with a consumption-based billing model that offers the flexibility of a cloud with the advantages of on-premise infrastructures. KBC can therefore offer its customers elements of an on-premise cloud infrastructure from the standard portfolio with HPE. This includes storage solutions, servers and network components, among other things. Challenges that arise in connection with bandwidth, data security or latency can thus be overcome. Customers also benefit from faster provision of the infrastructure thanks to a fixed contract, as there is no need for a quotation process involving several rounds of negotiations with the manufacturer. Price hedging over the term of the contract can be used to counteract price fluctuations on the market. For customers, there is no need for price negotiations in the event of license extensions. A significant added value of the HPE GreenLake package is the price reduction through economies of scale. With higher call volumes, a price reduction can be achieved by scaling price bands upwards. What makes HPE Greenlake unique is its sustainable approach. Companies can scale their IT resources according to demand and only pay for the resources they actually use. This enables optimal resource utilization while reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. HPE GreenLake thus helps to reduce the environmental impact and supports companies in achieving their sustainability goals. "The collaboration between K-Businesscom and Hewlett Packard Enterprise enables our customers to offer services with the flexibility and speed of the public cloud combined with the security and control of a local infrastructure. The long-term cost transparency and the availability of buffer capacities are the basis for the rapid and reliable provision of different workloads. This approach, which is unique on the Austrian market, ensures a particularly high level of customer satisfaction thanks to individual concepts and the simultaneous realization of economies of scale," says Christian Neuhauser, Vice President System Integration at K-Businesscom. About K-Businesscom: K-Businesscom AG (formerly Kapsch Businesscom) is Austria's leading ICT solution and service provider and digitalization partner. Following completion of the transaction, KBC Beteiligungs GmbH, together with its operating subsidiary K-Businesscom AG and its affiliated companies, which with their 1,650 employees generated total revenue of around €520 million and EBITDA of €28 million in the past financial year, will belong to the CANCOM Group. The volume of the cash and share component of the transaction amounts to around €165 million, depending on the CANCOM share price at the time of delivery of the shares to the sellers. Furthermore, existing financial liabilities of K-Businesscom in the amount of € 37.5 million will be redeemed in the short term as part of the transaction. Part of the transaction is a capital increase against contribution in kind at CANCOM SE with the issue of 3.5 million new no-par value bearer shares to the shareholders of KBC Beteiligungs GmbH by utilizing the Authorized Capital I/2018. The transaction clearly strengthens the market position of both companies in the DACH region. In return, Rüdiger Rath and Thomas Stark will take over mandates as members of the Supervisory Board of K-Businesscom AG from May 25, 2023. Why "artificial intelligence" will now change the competition

What is currently new in the use of artificial intelligence? Sinan Tankaz : The use of AI in business has so far been characterized by analytical applications. A generation with completely new capabilities will now greatly expand the possible applications - the so-called generative AI models. One of the best-known examples is the "Generative Pre-trained Transformer", known to many as Chat GPT from OpenAI. Generative AI algorithms use existing data - videos, images or even computer code - and create new content from it. This creative element differs from the pure analysis function. What does this mean for companies in concrete terms? Sinan Tankaz : Now is an important time for companies to decide on the use of AI. The reason: when used correctly, the new applications of business AI are a lever that fundamentally improves competitiveness. Companies that get their act together succeed in using generative AI to develop very strong market advantages and leave their competitors, who have hesitated for too long, behind. CANCOM Austria has already been using AI for its customers in productive environments for 6 years and, among other things, ensures that output is maintained by preventing outsourcing. What does this look like in practice? Sinan Tankaz : Customer service call centers in all industries require enormous cost and personnel input. We have developed an AI-based assistance system for customer service that automates all repetitive work in the first step. The second step involves a leap in quality that goes far beyond the classic use of AI: the AI-based recommender independently recognizes and reports the ideal time to contact the customer, the preferred communication channel and which offer makes the most sense. For inquiries in the self-service portal, the system assists with product selection. This enables operators to provide a fast and targeted service that puts the traditional call center experience in the shade. The call center team, relieved of standard inquiries, now takes care of the difficult consultations with the time required. This type of AI strategy is particularly important for traditional companies such as banks and insurance companies. This makes it possible to reach special target groups such as "digital natives" or the rapidly increasing number of older people as a result of demographic change. In recent years, a provider such as Amazon has demonstrated the dynamic effect that a differentiated level of quality in customer service can have on a company's competitive position. When implementing AI, CANCOM Austria relies on the use of graph technology. Similar profiles with similar behavior are merged, i.e. dynamic data is generated and profiles are created. How can this AI lever be used in industry? Sinan Tankaz : We use machine learning in the manufacturing industry. Here, too, it is possible to strengthen the market position of customers with leaps in quality. Here's an example: the experts at CANCOM Austria developed a customized business AI for a manufacturer of large industrial transport bags - so-called "big bags": the aim was to ensure the customer's ambitious performance promise that the company's "big bags" would last 100 percent reliably even under maximum stress. This is important because the contents of the goods in such transport bags usually exceed the value of the carrier bags by a factor of a thousand. The new AI application is now working very successfully in production monitoring at the manufacturer. Sophisticated sensor technology provides seamless data that is evaluated using artificial intelligence. The algorithms learn to detect the smallest deviations in product quality and play to the strength of machines to tirelessly monitor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The result: the manufacturer was able to keep its performance promise and thus significantly increase the prices for the new product line of zero-defect big bags - the earnings per unit are now around four times higher. AI often works with sensitive data - what is your experience here? Sinan Tankaz : With our AI applications, for example, we are working on making everyday life easier for doctors with computer-assisted processes. CANCOM Austria works locally with universities and institutes to ensure quality in the development of AI in this sensitive area with patient data. The benefits of AI applications in medicine are also extremely high: for example, our AI engine scans doctor's letters and prescriptions and independently collects data from them. On this basis, the application provides information on medications, active ingredients and disease progression. This means that not only can medication be used optimally, but interactions can also be avoided. Doctors are relieved of precisely those areas that the machine can do faster and more reliably than they can. It goes without saying that the data processing of sensitive customer data in AI-based applications must be secured. Speaking of security: what should always be taken into account with AI systems ? Sinan Tankaz : The use of AI models is based on trust. However, as AI systems work with neural networks and complex decision trees, it is more difficult to understand the decisions than with conventional software - the so-called black box problem. However, transparency is imperative when dealing with sensitive data in business. CANCOM Austria therefore relies strictly on trustworthy, open and explainable AI models. With these "explainable AI standards", decision transparency is defined, i.e. the question "How is it decided whether results are right or wrong?" and the comparison of identical questions is carried out in feedback loops. This follows a central motif of the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), which aims to regulate AI in all areas of life for the first time worldwide. What does the future look like? Sinan Tankaz : Generative AI models will help to overcome the most important challenges currently facing companies. Success in practice is always about organizing the division of labour between humans and machines in the best possible way. The reason: what is particularly easy for humans is difficult for AI systems and vice versa. Software, for example, can tirelessly sift through and compare tens of thousands of pieces of data - a task that quickly tires people out. However, when it comes to listening carefully to a person and empathically grasping the subtleties, the machine cannot keep up. The combination of man and machine is therefore the model for success. What is your conclusion? Sinan Tankaz : Companies should now seize the opportunity to make use of the new possibilities offered by business AI. Automation with analytical AI is always a promising way to save costs, reduce the workload on employees and raise quality levels. However, generative AI algorithms can do much more. My recommendation to management: benefit from our practical experience and discover that artificial intelligence delivers tangible competitive advantages.

K-Businesscom wins "Sky Rocket Award" with KBC Platform-X

Together with their long-standing partner Red Hat, the experts at K-Businesscom have developed the basis for KBC Platform-X, relying on new technologies from the field of enterprise open source software. The innovative strength of K-Businesscom as a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, which flowed into the flexible and modular solution development, has now been honored with the Red Hat "Sky Rocket Award" during the Red Hat Partner Kickoff Austria. "We are very pleased to have received the "Sky Rocket Award" for our K-Businesscom AG initiatives in the Red Hat Ecosystem at the Red Hat Partner Kickoff Austria. This award is a great motivation for our first-class team, which repeatedly delivers container and automation solutions with a great deal of commitment, dedication and strong technology from Red Hat," explains Martin Schober, Vice President Digital Solutions at K-Businesscom. "In today's world, solutions are becoming increasingly complex. It can be difficult for organizations to keep up with the speed at which new technologies are being developed today. Red Hat's open source approach harnesses the potential of a huge community and turns it into an enterprise-ready product." Red Hat OpenShift is ideally suited for enterprise use. As a platform for both container orchestration and application development, Red Hat OpenShift offers various options for making software available even faster in companies. Included components such as monitoring, load balancing and Operator Lifecycle Manager provide more time for operations. Red Hat OpenShift can be integrated into existing development processes and adapted to existing CI/CD specifications. Medium-sized companies as well as large corporations can benefit from this modular solution. "Together with K-Businesscom, we can accompany and support our customers in future topics such as containerization in digitization, AI/ML solutions in cloud environments and hybrid container environments," adds Dieter Ferner-Pandolfi, Country Manager Austria at Red Hat. The advantage of Red Hat OpenShift is the automated application deployment. Changes and new applications can be deployed to production more quickly and easily by different teams. The data center operations team no longer needs to be involved in the release process. This leads to rapid customer feedback and saves time and money in software development. Customers can combine the advantages of on-premise and cloud solutions. At the same time, the data remains under the customer's control and, if necessary, secured by KBC Security Managed Services. "The collaboration with Red Hat, the technology leader in the field of supported operating systems, is characterized by a very high standard of quality and reliability. It is important that reliable partners such as Red Hat and KBC work together in the enterprise sector in order to be able to provide appropriate enterprise support. As a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, we can also facilitate the complete operation of the entire solution for our customers," adds Martin Schober from K-Businesscom. KBC AG becomes part of the CANCOM Group

The two ICT service providers will become one of the leading companies in the DACH region with over 5,600 employees As of today, two leading digital transformation partners are combining their expertise in the ICT segment in the focus markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. CANCOM SE , headquartered in Munich , is one of the top IT system houses in Germany. CANCOM has been accompanying companies, organizations and the public sector into the digital future since 1992. As a hybrid IT service provider with 4,000 employees at around 60 locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Slovakia, the listed company generated annual sales of 1.3 billion euros in 2022. K-Businesscom AG (until 2022 Kapsch Businesscom AG) employs 1,650 people in the DACH region, Romania and the Czech Republic. Revenues in 2022/23 amounted to EUR 520 million. The merger will create one of the leading IT companies in the DACH region and the companies' customers will benefit from bundled expertise in IT and digitalization solutions, related services and the operation of IT systems. The two companies have similar business focuses and are also very complementary in many areas with their service and solutions portfolios. CANCOM is positioned as a specialist for digital workplace, cloud solutions and ICT managed services, among other things. K-Businesscom contributes its know-how as a digital business engineer for IT and business consulting and software development, as well as its expertise in intelligent networks and IT security with its own KBC Cyber Defense Center. With a broad partner landscape of both companies, an international ecosystem of leading global ICT players such as Microsoft, Apple, AWS, SAP, Cisco and HP, with whom both companies already have long-standing partnerships, paired with providers of industry solutions, is now being created. The comprehensive portfolio of services will benefit existing customers and also open up new market potential. "We have long been looking for a way to bring the CANCOM Group into a noticeably stronger market position, particularly in Austria and Switzerland, more quickly than would have been possible through organic growth. The customer structures, the service portfolio, the corporate cultures and the visions for the future represent a unique starting position for us to jointly tackle the growth potential of the DACH market. That is why we and the shareholders of K-Businesscom immediately seized the opportunity to work together," said Rüdiger Rath, CEO of CANCOM SE. Dr. Franz Semmernegg, CEO of K-Businesscom adds: "We see the greatest joint growth potential in our ICT service models (XaaS), especially in the area of cyber security. The general shortage of skilled workers coupled with constantly growing demands on IT departments and increasingly complex threat scenarios mean that companies and institutions are turning to the combined expertise and services of external ICT specialists." Both companies address focus sectors such as healthcare, public and manufacturing industry and develop digital industry solutions with and for their customers. The integration of K-Businesscom into CANCOM creates a leading hybrid ICT service provider with growth potential in the DACH region. K-Businesscom is planning to further expand its market share in Switzerland in particular. The first steps in this direction have already been taken: last week K-Businesscom acquired 100% of the shares in the owner-managed Belsoft Infortix AG. The system integrator with a focus on data centers, networks and security is based in Zurich and has branches in Pfäffikon and Basel. It has 35 employees and a turnover of around EUR 12 million. "The merger with CANCOM marks a milestone in our DACH growth strategy ," explains Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom. "Together, we have the opportunity to actively shape the digital transformation as a leading provider in Europe's strongest economic region. Thanks to our technological expertise of over 5,600 employees in combination with our scalable platforms, we can provide our customers with comprehensive support from consulting to secure operation and thus make a significant contribution to the digital competitiveness of the DACH region and Europe. " The close integration and joint path of the two companies will also be reflected in the management and Supervisory Board: Rüdiger Rath and Thomas Stark will join the Supervisory Board of K-Businesscom AG and Jochen Borenich will become a member of the Executive Board (CSO) of the CANCOM SE Group. Franz Semmernegg will remain CEO of KBC and will continue to lead the company with the existing, successful management team. Med UniGraz and K-Businesscom enter into research cooperation

Vienna, 14.10.2022 - The Medical University of Graz and digitalization specialist K-Businesscom have entered into a research partnership. In future, artificial intelligence will help hospitals to ensure that medication is administered seamlessly. Background: Every year, thousands of people worldwide die due to incorrect medication in hospital. On the wards, there is a high risk of confusion when dispensing medication in several places. Smart Medication aims to eliminate this safety problem. "There are still too many errors in the allocation of medication in hospitals - this gap needs to be closed quickly," says Priv.-Doz. Dr. Gerald Sendlhofer, Head of Quality and Risk Management, University Hospital Graz. In this situation, algorithms that cannot tire are perfect for supporting the busy staff. Four-eyes principle for administering medication "In our joint research project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), we are focusing on the dual control principle of man and machine for safe medication - using intelligent image recognition processes," says Michael Baumgartner, Head of Business Consulting, Health and Social Care at K-Businesscom. The first step is to create a comprehensive database of the most frequently prescribed medications. Later, the AI will access this when the boxes of medication are dispensed to patients. The technology then automatically checks whether the correct medication is in the dispenser in the correct dosage. To do this, the information is compared with the electronic patient file. Seamlessly safeguarding the "last few meters" to the hospital bed "Our research project focuses in particular on the 'last few meters' of the medication's journey to the patient," says Baumgartner. "We are investigating how digital technology can specifically improve everyday hospital life here." At the same time, the contribution of smart assistants that are already in daily use is to be measured. For example, the digital ward round trolley contains a personal "medication safe". At the start of the ward round, the nurse scans the barcode on the patient's wrist. Only then does the electronic patient file and the individual medication compartment open - no mix-ups. CO2 tax: How industrial companies track down energy guzzlers

Save costs with "Energy Management 4.0" Vienna, November 10, 2021 - CO2 emissions will cost the economy more money if the Paris climate protection targets are met. In industry in particular, it is now important to reduce energy consumption to the necessary minimum and optimize the CO2 footprint. With digital "Energy Management 4.0", the experts at K-Businesscom are helping to track down hidden consumption and save costs with the networked factory. "Companies that want to increase their energy efficiency should start by measuring their current energy footprint," says Roland Ambrosch, Head of Digital Factory at K-Businesscom. The key to this is modern sensors that detect energy leaks or unnecessary standby consumption. "With the help of sensor technology, we often detect the hidden consumption of electricity, liquids or compressed air, for example, in manufacturing processes." Automated energy management Once such cost drivers have been identified as part of "energy monitoring", consumption can then be precisely adapted to the respective machine and order data under digital control. This is where intelligent production comes in: Starting with the largest energy consumers, all processes are coordinated so that only the resources that are actually needed are used. Cost savings of 20 percent through fine-tuning of processes "In practice, we often see in machining or in the plastics and food industries, for example, that a large efficiency lever can be applied to cooling and heating processes - there is great potential for savings here, especially when the seasons change," says Ambrosch. If only the temperatures actually required are reached, energy savings of up to 20 percent can be achieved. Using residual energy sustainably Every tonne of CO2 released will incur regulatory costs in the EU in future - increasing the pressure to optimize energy flows in production. The residual energy that is saved - and often already paid for - can also be used sustainably, for example for e-mobility or the production of steam. This further improves the CO2 balance. Carbon footprint is a competitive advantage The carbon footprint already serves as an important selection criterion today - for example when awarding contracts or loans. "Companies that systematically optimize their energy management improve their carbon footprint - this is an increasingly important competitive advantage when it comes to attracting customers, partners or suppliers. This trend will gain even more momentum with the introduction of CO2 pricing," says Ambrosch. The introduction of intelligent energy management is supported at national and international level by funding programs. "PAC Vendor Landscape Analysis": Local top dogs score with cloud services

Analysis of leading cloud services providers in DACH K-Businesscom grows against the market trend Vienna, September 30, 2021 - In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, regional providers of cloud services are playing to their strengths: K-Businesscom is one of the top ten providers in terms of revenue in its home market of Austria with its broad range of cloud services and is also successful in the DACH region. Locally rooted providers are proving to be a real alternative to global players such as IBM, Accenture and T-Systems. These are the findings of an analysis of the provider landscape in the DACH region by the analyst firm PAC. "Cloud platforms are increasingly the basis for innovation and new business models," says Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom. "We are very pleased that we stand out in PAC's analysis with our almost seamless end-to-end cloud services portfolio in our home market and are also growing against the trend." IT services market in Austria According to market observations by the analyst firm, K-Businesscom and Accenture recorded above-average growth in Austria, while many other established IT services providers have recently lost business share in the local market. In terms of overall market share, K-Businesscom occupies the top positions with T-Systems and IBM in terms of complete cloud services portfolio coverage at local level. Cloud services as a modernization hub Cloud services are the central hub for the modernization of IT applications, for example to consolidate and evaluate data for the development of future business models. "The rapid adaptation of work and communication processes at the start of the coronavirus crisis has shown just how important innovative cloud services are for companies," says Jochen Borenich from K-Businesscom. At the same time, however, companies need partners for the longer-term digital transformation. This includes projects for Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, for example. The analysis therefore also took into account management and strategy consulting services. About the PAC analysis On behalf of K-Businesscom, the analyst firm PAC examined the provider landscape in Austria and the DACH region and created dedicated vendor landscapes. The vendors positioned in these landscapes are those that can demonstrate both a comprehensive end-to-end portfolio of cloud-related services and an outstanding position as an IT service provider in the region. Methodology To calculate the market shares, revenues from IT services were considered, which include IT application and IT infrastructure-related consulting, system integration, hosting and operating services. Revenue from public cloud platforms (incl. hyperscalers) was not taken into account. The end-to-end portfolio of cloud-related services refers to services such as cloud strategy and technology consulting for public, private and hybrid cloud environments, implementation, migration, integration, technology provision and maintenance, public, private and hybrid cloud managed services, private cloud hosting, network and security services. >>> Click here for the entire study K-Businesscom is Austria's leading ICT solution and service provider and digitalization partner. Employees: 62 percent demand permanent home office.

Survey of 1,000 employees in Austria What people want from the "working world of the future" after corona Vienna, September 17, 2020 - The majority of employees in Austria would like their employer to allow them to work from home permanently until there is a COVID-19 vaccine. At the same time, more freedom to make decisions and the desire to manage employees remotely online are also very popular. These are the findings of the Kapsch Group's "Workplace of the future in the digital world" study. A market research institute surveyed 1,000 employees for the study. The survey results show that employees in Austria already have very specific ideas about a new corporate culture: 77% consider it important to very important in the digital age to manage home office employees remotely in online teams. 83% would like to make organizational structures more flexible, for example by eliminating departmental thinking. In addition, 89 percent advocate more freedom to make decisions. Technology & leadership in the home office. "During the coronavirus lockdown phase, we temporarily allowed almost all of our 6,500 employees in 40 countries to work from home," says Daniel Rutter, Vice President Human Resources at Kapsch Group. "Technically, we were generally prepared for such a scenario. As a digital company, we had already learned how teams work best online across national borders." "During the crisis, we managed to provide all employees with the necessary hardware - although we had to upgrade some of it," reports Daniel Rutter. "The in-house support team also resolved technical problems, for example with video conferencing. Also very important for a successful transition to working from home: managing purely virtual teams requires new management methods, which we were able to adopt from our international experience." Leadership with Objectives & Key Results (OKR) Managing employees remotely means turning away from traditional management methods. The ongoing monitoring of physical presence, working hours and progress is no longer necessary. Supervision by the manager is replaced by a bottom-up approach in which the entire team agrees quarterly targets online for all to see. The agreed "objectives" are prepared in a way that is understandable for all participants and made measurable with defined "key results". This management method, known as Objectives & Key Results (OKR), originates from IT companies in Silicon Valley and has been tried and tested in digital companies for years. Combining the best of the working worlds. "Managers no longer have to look over the shoulder of every single employee to keep up to date," says Daniel Rutter. "There is also a new transparency across departmental boundaries. However, it is important to create a healthy mix of old and new working environments. If you only work from home, you miss the chance conversations with colleagues in the coffee kitchen. These are needed to develop new ideas and a bond with the company. Therefore, analog rituals should also be made possible in hybrid workplaces. Ultimately, the aim is to combine the best of both worlds."

80% of employees satisfied with COVID-19 crisis response in their companies

Survey of 1,000 employees in Austria What people want from a "workplace of the future" after corona Vienna, September 4, 2020 - Four out of five employees in Austria give their own company a good report card for its response to the coronavirus crisis. 56 percent report newly created home office options. These are the findings of the study "Workplace of the future in the digital world" by the digital company Kapsch Group. A representative survey of 1,000 employees in Austria was conducted by a market research institute. "In our company, the switch to working from home after the lockdown worked very well," says Daniel Rutter, Executive Vice President Human Resources Kapsch Group. "As a digital group, we have been relying on collaboration solutions in our portfolio for some time. That's why our employees were already well equipped technologically before COVID-19. Flexible working hours have also been common practice at our company for some time - an important reason why our productivity has not suffered during the crisis." Workplace of the future: younger people think differently. As the survey shows, there are some differences in the wishes for the workplace of the future in the various age groups. While younger employees (20-40-year-olds) prefer to work with a small number of colleagues in the same room (shared office), older employees (41-60-year-olds) prefer an individual office. Open-plan offices are not popular in either age group. For around a quarter of younger employees, the use of modern collaboration tools such as MS Teams is very important, while this is only the case for 15% of older employees. Finally, both groups show a similarly positive attitude when it comes to the use of mobile devices or being able to work from any location. Innovation requires personal interaction. Location-independent working had already become increasingly important at K-Businesscom before the pandemic, partly due to international collaboration on projects. "A digitally networked workplace is the right way to go, especially with regard to the wishes of the younger generation," says Rutter. "However, successful teamwork requires a well-balanced concept. As our daily experience shows, innovations often arise from chance conversations with colleagues from other areas of the company. These informal conversations, for example in the coffee kitchen, and other analog rituals must also be preserved in a digital working world."

K-Businesscom is Microsoft Country Partner of the Year 2020

The digitalization partner was able to impress above all with rapid solutions in connection with COVID-19. Vienna, 14 July 2020 - Microsoft Corporation has announced the winners of the "Partner of the Year 2020" award. The annual award recognizes Microsoft partners who demonstrate outstanding achievements in the innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology. In Austria, K-Businesscom is delighted to receive the coveted award this year. Among other things, two projects that K-Businesscom implemented in the course of COVID-19 were decisive. The digitalization provider has developed two COVID-19 response solutions based on Azure, SharePoint and M365. One solution supports the logistics process in the production of protective masks, while the other enables a major research project to collect information on patients at risk of developing diabetes mellitus due to COVID-19. "We have been used to the precise and rapid implementation of innovative projects from K-Businesscom for years, but we were particularly impressed by their agility and flexibility in the current situation and at the start of the coronavirus pandemic," says Michael Rehberger, One Commercial Partner & Small, Medium Corporate Lead at Microsoft Austria , describing the partnership and explaining the jury's decision. Rapid collection of important patient data Within a very short time, the software developers from K-Businesscom, together with Microsoft and icomedias, were able to develop a digital data collection system for the Austrian Diabetes Association to examine the connection and impact of COVID-19 on patients suffering from diabetes. Diabetes mellius is a risk factor for severe courses of COVID-19 infections. The digital Austria-wide recording of relevant parameters such as laboratory values, concomitant diseases and medication enables a well-founded diagnosis. An Austrian (cloud) solution in the fight against COVID-19 During the coronavirus crisis, the Smart Textile Consortium in Vorarlberg began producing individual parts and FFP-2 class protective masks, which are manufactured entirely in Austria. To do this, they needed an IT solution that could not only be implemented quickly, but was also scalable. By using the latest technologies and programming methods, K-Businesscom and Microsoft were able to quickly deliver a cloud-based system that enabled the Smart Textile consortium to track packages accurately. But beyond the coronavirus crisis, K-Businesscom and Microsoft are also working on solutions for Azure, SharePoint, Modern Workplace with M365 applications, collaboration including Service Hub and security. These are important components of the digitalization strategies of well-known customers in all industries. The award is a significant milestone for K-Businesscom, because K-Businesscom BusinessCom is not only a major international Azure customer itself, but also has a cloud solution provider partnership with Microsoft, in which Microsoft creates ideal framework conditions for the development and implementation of digitalization solutions. "Microsoft Azure is not just a part of our portfolio, but an important part of our overall strategy," explains Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom , "A large part of our sales team and the Cloud Architects specialize in it. This allows us to support our customers end-to-end in their cloud transformation. We have an excellent working relationship with Microsoft in all areas, from SMEs to the enterprise segment, across all industries. To now be Microsoft Partner of the Year in Austria is a new highlight of our partnership." The awards were presented in a total of 49 categories and selected from more than 2,900 entries from over 100 countries. The winners and finalists were honored at the global partner conference and this year's digital Microsoft Inspire on July 21 and 22. As a leading digitalization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in improving their business performance and developing new business models. K-Businesscom is a consultant, system supplier and service provider. Dorfbahn Serfaus: Short, fast, safe and digital. With CANCOM Austria.

Vienna, August 22, 2019 - The municipality of Serfaus in Tyrol with a population of 1,125 has a subway line. With a route length of just 1.28 kilometers, the Dorfbahn may be considerably shorter than the Vienna subway network, but the "Alpen-U-Bahn" has nothing to hide. After three and a half years of intensive modernization work, the Dorfbahn has been transporting 3,000 passengers per hour since the beginning of July. This is made possible thanks to innovative assistance systems and digital technology from K-Businesscom. In four stations at 1,400 meters above sea level. Europe's most modern aerial tramway runs neither on rails nor on wheels. It glides along on an air cushion one millimeter above the ground, driven by a traction cable. The cable car was built in the mid-1980s to relieve the village's roads. However, thirty years after it opened, the Dorfbahn had reached its capacity limits. It was therefore extensively modernized from 2016 to 2019. The new railroad has been in operation since July 2019. The train is now almost 45 instead of 30 meters long and can transport 3,000 people per hour instead of the previous 1,600. That's almost twice as many as before. In addition, the intervals between trains have been reduced from ten to nine minutes. Comprehensive solutions from a single source. K-Businesscom is Austria's only digitalization provider to offer complete solutions from a single source. The company not only supplied the entire network technology for the new train, but also the IT for the vehicle, the assistance systems, the video surveillance, the monitor and the emergency call systems. The complete radio system for the company radio, blue light and fire department - an analog radio network for firefighting operations - also comes from K-Businesscom. "We provide the hardware and develop the entire safety concept," says Kamran Kiafar, Account Manager Mountain Railways and Industry at K-Businesscom. "The core of the system is a security control center where everything comes together. If an emergency call is made, for example, the cameras in the area automatically switch on and show a picture of the situation." For the first time in the ropeway industry, smart glasses with the associated technical knowledge database are being used for maintenance and servicing. Thanks to this digital assistance system from Evolaris (a subsidiary of K-Businesscom), service operations can be carried out remotely for the most part. This helps the cable car operator in Serfaus to avoid cost-intensive on-site operations. "Our core competence at K-Businesscom is end-to-end solutions and their operation. We combine network and IT with security technology, smart solutions and multimedia. We are not only a digitalization partner for our customers, but also a consultant," says Kiafar. As a leading digitalization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in increasing their business performance and developing new business models. K-Businesscom acts as a consultant, system supplier and service provider. With its comprehensive expertise in dealing with large amounts of data and security as well as a large number of successful use cases in numerous industries, K-Businesscom is the ideal companion for digital transformation. K-Businesscom makes the new office of the Vienna AMS-Serviceline smart

K-Businesscom is equipping the renovated AMS building in Vienna's 22nd district with intelligent sensors for the lighting. This smart lighting solution allows the lighting to be automated and individually controlled, significantly reducing energy consumption. Vienna, 15 April 2019 - K-Businesscom is equipping the new AMS Serviceline call center with a comprehensive smart lighting solution, for which the digitalization expert installed 860 adjustable LED lamps with 860 sensors in the new office in Prandaugasse. Around 150 AMS employees spread over five floors with a total of 3,300 m² now benefit from a pleasant working atmosphere. For those responsible for the building, the new solution provides simple and automated control of the lighting as well as enormous potential for reducing energy consumption. "The renovation of our building provided a good opportunity to focus on smart solutions in new areas. In the long term, we expect to save 80% on electricity consumption. K-Businesscom has been a reliable telephony partner of AMS for many years, with over 7,000 connections throughout Austria," explains Harald Halfmann, Head of Purchasing at AMS. Lighting only when it is really needed. At the heart of the new solution are the 860 sensors that can measure a wide range of parameters. At AMS, these are the presence in the room and the amount of sunlight. The LED lamps automatically adjust their brightness to the sensor data and provide different amounts of light depending on their position in the room. For example, workstations at the window are illuminated differently to those further inside the building. The lighting conditions can even be adjusted depending on the weather. Lamps also switch off when rooms are empty and the light in corridors brightens automatically as soon as someone walks through. The lighting adjustments are measured so sensitively (30 times per second) and played out in a targeted manner that they are barely noticeable to the human eye. The only thing that employees notice is that there is always an optimum and pleasant light intensity of 500 LUX in the rooms and at the workplace. For facility management, the system makes it easy to handle and operate the lighting system. Facility managers simply control the system centrally or via remote access. The LED luminaires can be replaced quickly, easily and, above all, safely in the event of a failure, as only plug connections and low voltage are used (Power over Ethernet). "The smart lighting solution at AMS is a good example of the potential of smart building technologies for employees, facility management and building owners in general," explains Jochen Borenich, Member of the Management Board at K-Businesscom. With the existing sensor technology and the intelligence behind it, many additional functions could be covered and expanded: for example, temperature measurement for controlling the heating, automatic workstation bookings for shared desk approaches, the release of unused meeting rooms (if no presence is measured after a few minutes) and much more. Smart building offers a broad field for the optimal control and efficient use of any building. "The technological solution that we use at AMS comes from our German partner w-tec, a company in our digital ecosystem for smart buildings. As the exclusive partner for Austria, we plan and install these smart lighting solutions end-to-end. Just like all our digitalization solutions: from the sensor to the networking to the platform, where the data is processed accordingly and analysed with artificial intelligence, to the application for the user himself, who can book and control his workplace in the smart office on his smartphone," adds Jochen Borenich. As a leading digitalization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in increasing their business performance and developing new business models. K-Businesscom acts as a consultant, system supplier and service provider. K-Businesscom acquires 100% of artificial intelligence specialist AIMC

K-Businesscom is expanding its digitalization expertise by fully integrating its former subsidiary Advanced Information Management Consulting GmbH (AIMC) and bundling its data science expertise in a new division of its own. Vienna, April 1, 2019 - Since the beginning of 2019, Advanced Information Management Consulting GmbH (AIMC) has been fully integrated into K-Businesscom. In recent years, the digitalization expert has increasingly focused on the topics of big data, data analytics and artificial intelligence and implemented pioneering projects. In February 2017, the investment in AIMC set the course for this development. AI and data analytics expertise is bundled in a new department at K-Businesscom. The seven data science specialists at AIMC will bring knowledge to the new team that they have already demonstrated in various projects in the industrial, insurance and healthcare sectors. The core objective of the unit is to increase the efficiency of companies. To this end, the experts translate the information from large, mostly existing volumes of company data and derive recommendations for action. In particular, this involves content analytics, predictive analytics and image analytics. AI and machine learning: simplifying decision-making processes "The aim is to demystify the topic of artificial intelligence and machine learning and translate it into profitable applications," says new department head Sinan Tankaz, explaining his task. "For the first time, we now have a dedicated department that pools AI knowledge and can transfer our expertise into specific use cases even faster." In practice, the experts work with customers on very specific issues that can be solved with the help of machine learning. This involves large volumes of data from a wide variety of sources, which are analyzed with the help of algorithms. As a result, anomalies in standard processes suddenly become visible and quantifiable. "In the healthcare sector, for example, this could be interactions between prescribed medications," adds Tankaz. This provides companies with transparency and clarity for measures and decisions. A wide range of practical examples show the concrete benefits of the technologies. In Austrian industry, predictive quality enables components to be analyzed for their future suitability in practice before they even leave the assembly line. Customer requests are automatically analyzed, understood and the necessary transactions initiated without the need for employee intervention. Cross-selling and recommender systems predict customer wishes and increase sales in online stores and fast food restaurants. Fraud detection models recognize fraud attempts in real time. The use of machine learning in the healthcare sector will revolutionize processes, diagnosis and treatment options. "There are truly endless application possibilities for AI in everyday life and for our customers. These are often far removed from typical AI associations such as robots or cyborgs. It's about image, text and speech recognition, process optimization, scrap reduction, quality improvement and much more - that's what makes this job so exciting and varied," enthuses Sinan Tankaz. Sinan Tankaz Sinan Tankaz (33) has been with K-Businesscom since 2012. As a smart grid expert, he was actively involved in setting up the smart metering business area and was most recently responsible for business development. In his role as assistant to the Executive Board, he also dealt intensively with future topics and trends, including the topic of artificial intelligence, and played a key role in establishing this new business area within K-Businesscom. In April, he will take over the management of the Artificial Intelligence team. K-Businesscom - Large amounts of snow in the Northern Alps: Textile, intelligent snow load sensor can save lives

A textile snow load sensor is being used for the first time worldwide in Vorarlberg. The solution was developed by K-Businesscom together with the Grabher Group and the Smart Textiles Platform Austria. Forecasting the snow load on roofs is a major challenge, even for specialists. In future, the intelligent textile snow load sensor will also help emergency services, local authorities and private individuals to correctly assess the risk situation so that they can act in good time. Vienna/Hohenems, January 21, 2019 - The current weather conditions in Austria are pushing roof structures to their limits due to the existing snow loads. This raises the question: how much snow can my roof withstand before it collapses? The intelligent, textile snow load sensor from Grabher provides the answer. The innovative fabric becomes an intelligent sensor thanks to the underlying technology solution from K-Businesscom. The sensor is only a few millimeters thick and is mounted directly on the roof surface. There it measures the weight of the snow and issues an alarm via a platform when the snow load limit is reached. In Eichenberg (Vorarlberg), the textile, digital snow load sensors are being tested for the first time under real conditions at 793 meters above sea level, with around 40 centimetres of snow. Prior to this, the fabric lifesaver was put through its paces in the laboratory. Development began three years ago. in 2018, the companies presented the sensor to the public for the first time. This promptly brought the first award: the textile snow load sensor was one of the winning projects in the Smart City Dornbirn competition as an outstanding digitalization project. How does a fabric become smart? The digitalization process to make a fabric smart is complex. "In the course of our daily work and our experience from over 130 digitalization workshops, we at K-Businesscom have found that most digitalization processes can be broken down into five components: sensor technology, networking, platform, artificial intelligence and analysis as well as application," explains Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom. These components are also used in the development of the textile snow load sensor solution. It all starts with the sensor technology that records the data. In the case of snow load detection, this involves intelligent fabric that measures the weight of the snow. The snow load data is continuously collected and transferred to an IoT platform in K-Businesscom's own data centers in a highly secure manner and stored in encrypted form. In the next step, this data is then evaluated and analyzed. You could say that from this moment on, the material becomes intelligent. This is because data becomes information that can control and influence events and decisions. In the final step, the necessary information reaches the end user in real time via the platform. There, they can read the snow load data via an app. Only then does big data become smart data and thus understandable for the end user. If the values are increased, the textile, intelligent snow load sensor immediately sounds the alarm. This is how digital, smart solutions increase safety and make everyday life easier. "With our expertise as a leading digitalization expert, we implement end-to-end projects in all sectors, from industry and healthcare to smart offices," adds Borenich. Everyday helpers in a snow emergency "K-Businesscom's know-how in the field of transmission, data backup and analysis and our expertise in the entire textile sector complement each other perfectly here to make fabrics smart and develop them for intelligent use," says Günter Grabher, CEO of the Grabher Group. As interest in this solution is extremely high due to the current situation, it is currently being extensively tested in various scenarios and under real-life conditions. Experts from K-Businesscom, Grabher and the Smart Textiles platform are already planning additional functions: For example, the system will also provide data for assessing avalanche situations. The Grabher Group , Company of the Year 2018, based in Vorarlberg, is home to nine companies that focus on the production of technical textiles, lightweight fiber composites, nano-plasma technology and smart textiles. With V-trion textile research GmbH, the group of companies also maintains its own research facility in these areas and is one of the world leaders in the research and development of textile sensors and actuators in particular. www.grabher-group.at

Austria's leading digitization partner is now also represented with a branch in Switzerland following the acquisition of eCrome Systems AG. In addition, K-Businesscom is intensifying its strategic sales partnership with UPC Switzerland. In Germany, K-Businesscom Carrier Solutions GmbH was finally integrated into K-Businesscom. With the new additions, K-Businesscom is massively expanding its market presence in the DACH region. Vienna, November 6, 2018 - The Austrian ICT market leader is strengthening both its presence and its service offering beyond the country's borders. "We are positioning ourselves as an ICT and digitalization partner in the DACH region," says Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom. The new branches will bring K-Businesscom even closer to its customers in Germany and Switzerland. "The additional expertise will also provide a strategically valuable addition to our own services," adds Borenich. Among other things, the additions will strengthen the carrier, energy provider and healthcare business areas. eCrome Systems AG becomes K-Businesscom Founded in 1995 and based in St. Gallen, eCrome Systems AG is an IT system integrator specializing in managed services in the areas of data center, network and collaboration solutions. Over 50 reference customers form the ideal foundation for further market development with the entire K-Businesscom portfolio. The acquisition of eCrome Systems AG also includes the wholly owned subsidiary eCrome Medical AG, which specializes in eHealth solutions. "In recent years, eCrome has successfully built up long-term IT service contracts and is therefore a perfect fit for us as a leading IT managed services partner in Austria," explains Jochen Borenich. The current Managing Director Emil Friedauer will remain in charge in Switzerland. The next steps will be the gradual integration into K-Businesscom and the expansion of the portfolio. ICT and digitization partner for UPC Switzerland K-Businesscom and its sales partner UPC (the second largest carrier company in Switzerland) have been addressing security and network solutions as well as network services on the Swiss market for over a year now and have been able to win their first major projects, such as the network outsourcing of Thurgauer Kantonalbank. The bank, which has total assets of over 21 billion Swiss francs, is relying on the expertise of K-Businesscom BusinessCom for the renewal and operational management of its entire network infrastructure over the next six years. Established in Germany At the beginning of April 2018, the German K-Businesscom Carrier Solutions GmbH was finally integrated into K-Businesscom. "By integrating the German branches, we are leveraging synergies in the areas of portfolio, expertise and target groups, expanding our industry focus on carriers and energy providers and being able to address the German market with our digitalization approach, which has already been very successful in Austria," says Jochen Borenich. For example, K-Businesscom developed an intelligent office solution for smart working environments based on a K-Businesscom IoT solution with the German office furniture manufacturer Sedus. K-Businesscom in Germany currently offers a comprehensive range of transmission technology and security solutions, radio and information technology, voice and data over IP, radio relay, DSL and fibre optic access solutions and will position itself as a digitalization partner for a wide range of industries on the German market in the future. Ralf Arweiler and Wolfgang Matschke are responsible for the management of the company. K-Businesscom has already implemented projects for QSC, ONTRAS, Helvetia and M-Net, among others, at its headquarters in Neuss near Düsseldorf and at its Frankfurt location. As a leading digitization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in increasing their business performance and developing new business models. K-Businesscom acts as a consultant, system supplier and service provider. With its comprehensive expertise in dealing with large amounts of data and security as well as a large number of successful use cases in numerous industries, K-Businesscom is the ideal companion for digital transformation. The extensive portfolio in Austria, Romania and the DACH region includes technology solutions for intelligent and, above all, secure ICT infrastructure, smart building, media and security technology as well as outsourcing services. K-Businesscom relies on vendor independence and partnerships with leading global providers such as HPE, Cisco and Microsoft as well as a broad network of partners from research and industry-specific solution providers - from start-ups to large corporations. K-Businesscom has over 17,000 customers - e.g. Allianz, Erste Bank, ÖBB, OMV, ORF or Vodafone - and supports them locally and globally. Around 1,200 K-Businesscom employees generated revenue of around EUR 318 million in the 2017/18 financial year.

K-Businesscom and office furniture manufacturer Sedus develop the "intelligent office"

The innovative se:connects solution from Sedus, the specialist for office furnishings and workplace concepts, is backed by the expertise and technology of K-Businesscom. The Austrian digitalization expert is providing the entire end-to-end solution for se:connects. Vienna, October 4, 2018 - Building technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated and the outstanding examples of "smart buildings" impressively demonstrate what is technically possible today. From lighting, heating, ventilation, wayfinding, security and access control systems to the networking of information and communication technology - there is almost nothing that is not yet digitally recorded, controlled and evaluated and, of course, facility managers are currently very interested in the topics of room and space utilization. Instead of fixed workstations and rigid office structures, companies are increasingly focusing on smart working concepts. The free choice of workspace - depending on tasks and preferences - is also fundamentally changing the way we work, contributing not only to greater efficiency, but also to more creativity and job satisfaction. The two companies K-Businesscom and Sedus combine smart working and smart office. The cloud-based platform se:connects makes it easier for employees to find their desks in the office every day. What's more, se:connects saves the company money by optimizing office space utilization. At its heart is a mobile app combined with intelligent IoT sensor technology as an innovative solution for the use and management of workstations in smart working environments. In concrete terms, this means that employees can use an app to quickly select their preferred workspace according to parameters such as "close to team members", "sun/shade", "quiet or communicative". Companies, on the other hand, can see the utilization of their office space transparently and can thus optimize their workplace design. Desks and office chairs record the presence of their users via sensors and facility managers receive anonymized but very valuable data that can be used for efficient space utilization and design. Jochen Borenich, CEO of K-Businesscom AG: "We are delighted that Sedus is joining us on this path to the smart office. We were able to convince them with our consistent end-to-end concept for digitalization. From sensors on chairs and desks to Internet of Things gateway modules and the cloud platform and associated data analysis, including dashboards and mobile applications, everything comes from K-Businesscom. The solution for the smart office will be presented for the first time at ORGATEC, the international innovation and trend trade fair for new ways of working, from October 23 to 27, 2018 in Cologne." Holger Jahnke, CEO of Sedus Stoll AG: "Our mobile app se:connects is an important building block of modern building technology and in the near future, I am convinced that there will only be 'one app for everything'. In the specialists at K-Businesscom, we have found a competent and innovative partner that offers manufacturer and system-independent solutions. Large international customers in particular, with extremely complex IT structures, expect simple and perfectly functioning IoT solutions. The IoT market will continue to develop rapidly and connect us all even more closely. What still sounds like 'Big Brother' to a few will bring advantages and benefits for the majority. In my view, intelligent networking will become the core function of products and service offerings, such as usage-based billing models." "When Sedus developed the first office chairs over 125 years ago, K-Businesscom was already working on transmission technology in the form of Morse devices at the same time. Today, in the digital age, we are bringing together precisely these competencies of the two traditional companies from the DACH region in the 'intelligent networked office' with se:connects," says Jochen Borenich. Sedus Stoll AG , based in Dogern (Waldshut district), is one of the leading full-service providers of office furniture and workplace concepts. Sedus develops, produces and sells high-quality furniture "Made in Germany". As an office furniture expert and technology pioneer, Sedus has repeatedly set standards in its more than 145-year company history - particularly in the areas of ergonomics, design and sustainability. In the process, standards have been developed that have achieved global significance. The Sedus Stoll Group achieved a turnover of over EUR 191 million in the 2017 financial year and employs around 900 people. www.sedus.com As a leading digitalization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in improving their business performance and developing new business models. Some major events are already fixed: in addition to the opening match against Borussia Dortmund on July 13, the UEFA Women's Champions League final in 2020 and the UNIQA ÖFB Cup finals between 2019 and 2022 will be held in the arena. Video assistance at the touch of a button: maintenance professionals with smart glasses

In cooperation with EVOLARIS, K-Businesscom offers the EVOCALL digital assistance system. This in-house development from EVOLARIS supports service teams in maintenance processes via video or audio transmission. Regardless of location and in real time. For example at HAIDLMAIR. Vienna, March 12, 2018 - Tools and moulds for drinks crates, storage and logistics containers, pallets, pallet boxes, recycling containers and automotive parts - all this and more is produced at HAIDLMAIR in Nußbach. Maintenance or repair work may need to be carried out later in the customer's production process that cannot be done in-house and an external expert has to come in quickly and on the spot. Otherwise you have to wait. Which costs valuable time and means lost sales. This is now a thing of the past. The Graz-based company EVOLARIS, in which K-Businesscom holds a stake, has developed EVOCALL, a digital assistance system that has recently started supporting the HAIDLMAIR International service team. "The ability to call in a specialist via live video transmission to guide and support the service processes saves valuable time and high additional costs. EVOCALL therefore makes the day-to-day work of our service team easier and also increases system availability and product quality," explains Christian Eckhart, Head of International Service at HAIDLMAIR. K-Businesscom supported the digital transformation process in this project and was responsible for the introduction of EVOCALL with its services for maintenance processes. "Together with EVOLARIS, we were able to offer HAIDLMAIR a comprehensive range of services based on innovative digitalization solutions and platforms. We implemented EVOCALL with nine data glasses of the HMT-1 head-mounted tablet model from RealWear and Barcotec. With the support of the video remote support solution, it is now possible to service HAIDLMAIR's customers quickly and efficiently," says Jochen Borenich, member of the K-Businesscom Management Board, proudly describing the successful project. Before the solution was introduced, HAIDLMAIR had a maximum response time of 24-36 hours. EVOCALL has reduced this to 30 minutes. Specialists can guide the process via live video or audio and send important information such as circuit diagrams, data sheets or checklists directly to the data glasses. In addition, the entire support session can be recorded and used for training purposes or instruction videos based on real work assignments. This practical approach also makes for efficient on-the-job training. The EVOLARIS innovation center in Graz focuses on the design and development of digital assistance systems to optimize operational processes and increase efficiency in production, maintenance and service. EVOLARIS scores with standardized software systems as well as specifically developed solutions for mobile devices and web applications. When developing the solutions, EVOLARIS involves users in the development process right from the start in order to meet the high standards of usability. The KBC Cyber Defense Center stands up to hackers

K-Businesscom has had its own Cyber Defense Center (CDC) for the identification, analysis and containment of cyber attacks since 2017. The IT security concept of K-Businesscom, Austria's only company with TÜV-Trusted IT security auditors, provides round-the-clock protection against increasing cybercrime. Vienna, January 25, 2018 - "If you want to put a stop to hackers, you have to be smarter, more responsive and more efficient than they are," says Timo Jobst, Head of KBC Cyber Defense Center. Day after day, the highly qualified specialists in the new specialist department identify and analyze attacks and anomalies. And thus build up unique expertise. Coupled with the appropriate technology, it is used to identify attacks and react quickly and correctly to incidents. "And throughout K-Businesscom, as well as with customers," adds Jobst. Worldwide, cybercrime causes economic damage of around 500 billion euros per year. As a leading expert in data security and management, K-Businesscom is expanding its portfolio in the ICT sector with a Cyber Defense Center. "No matter how well protected or prepared you are, a motivated attacker will always manage to penetrate a network," explains Christian Üblbacher, Head of Security Solutions at K-Businesscom. He adds: "As soon as we accept this fact, we will also find solutions to this problem." In addition to prevention, the CDC focuses on detecting and isolating cyber attacks. This guarantees customers fast response times in the event of an emergency, as well as the establishment of a close-knit security network. The center's 2-in-1 concept offers optimum security against hacker attacks. The first pillar, the Managed Defense Service (MDS), collects security-relevant information from the network, devices, applications and log files. Here, K-Businesscom relies on the combination of man and machine: the combination of analytical thinking and employee expertise with the technical support of various tools, defined procedures and effective processes makes it possible to detect attacks at an early stage and contain or even prevent damage. The second pillar of the CDC is K-Businesscom Emergency Response (ER). If an attacker has penetrated a company's systems, the security incident is assessed, scoped and analyzed. Together with the company, the CDC immediately develops a strategy to restore secure normal operations as quickly as possible. The first successes quickly became apparent. Numerous attacks, anomalies and malware are identified and contained daily in the monitored networks so that they can then be removed. In the new Cyber Defense Center, K-Businesscom bundles its experience in data security, infrastructure development and network analysis in a competence center that is unique in Austria. As a leading digitalization partner, K-Businesscom supports companies in increasing their business performance and developing new business models. K-Businesscom acts as a consultant, system supplier and service provider.
